The Boston Celtics won Game 2 in Orlando to take a 2-0 series lead back to Boston. The talk this morning is over a Twitter comment made by Paul Pierce. Pierce’s people are denying it, this is Pierce’s tweet, “Anybody got a BROOM?”

My 2 Cents: This series is over. I do not think Pierce’s comments are going to fire up the lifeless Magic. Where is Rashard Lewis? He is a non-factor. He’s averaging 5.5 points & 5.5 boards through the first two games of the Eastern Conference Finals.

Michael Leighton is the real deal. He stopped 30 shots last night for his second straight shutout against the Montreal Canadiens to take a 2-0 series lead. Jaroslav Halak was given all the attention in the first two rounds as he stopped the two poster boys of the NHL, Oveckin in the 1st round and Crosby in the 2nd.

The Chicago Blackhawks will take a 2-0 series lead back to Chicago with them after beating San Jose last night 4-2.

My 2 Cents: I think the Canadiaens get one at home, but Philly takes it in 5. I would not be surprised to see Philly win in 4, with Leighton’s goaltending. Chicago may sweep the Sharks with two games back in Chicago.

The Washington Wizards hit the “John Wall Sweepstakes” last night winning the NBA Draft lottery and Irene Polin’s reaction was priceless. The city of Washington DC has some up-and-coming sports stars to be happy about; Stephen Strasburg and Bryce Harper ( assuming they draft him in next month’s draft with the #1 overall pick) of the Nationals, Alexander Ovechkin of the Capitals and McNabb to the Skins gives them a chance for the next couple years.

Firefly Tapas Kitchen and Bar is one such place; from Gazpacho to Mushroom Tarts and everything in between, the menu is first rate and the Mojittos are good enough to be deceptively corrupting to ones better judgment. Firefly is located at 3900 Paradise Road (A Two minute cab ride from the strip).

The Artisan Hotel is a boutique hotel located at 1501 W. Sahara Ave. (A 3 minute cab ride from the strip). It’s mannerism could blend very well in Miami. In a city filled with hotels lacking the intimacy and style of a true boutique hotel,The Sixty Room Artisan is by far, the most eclectic, unique, boutique hotel in Las Vegas. The lobby is reminiscent of Soho, while the bar-lounge is burlesque hip yet inviting while providing top service. If you are a fan of techno, the bar hosts live DJ’s every weekend. The restaurant went from average to good, back to average. However, since Siegel Suites purchased the property last year, I expect the restaurant to return to its old Italian glory days.

Veloce is a restaurant-lounge located on the top floor of the M Hotel and resort (12300 Las Vegas Blvd). Veloce offers a contemporary Italian menu as well as a roof top lounge that would be comfortable on Sunset Blvd.

As a Mack and Cheese addict, I must include a location that is not really off the beaten path, but has the best Mac and Cheese in town. Simon at Palms Place (Palms Place Hotel – 4381 W. Flamingo Rd.) is Chef Kerry Simon‘s follow up to his successful Simons Place at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. Same excellent comfort food wrapped in contemporary swagger, with a new, more impressive location.
